Startup Success: Fundraising Workshop

Kelsey got her start working with organizations such as Teach For America and City Year, before moving into the travel industry where she ran an educational travel division. She then launched her own startup, a series of plant-based juice bar cafes in the Boston area.

She is passionate about helping startups grow and scale.  Kelsey is a board member of Lesbians Who Tech and a committee leader at Venture Out. She now leads the HubSpot for Startups Team across the Americas, which provides coaching and guidance to founders and scholarships to qualifying startups to help them scale.

Arjun is Founder and CEO at doola.com, your trusted partner for confidently launching a US company from anywhere in the world. Before that, Arjun started on the data and analytics team at Dropbox before moving to product manager on the Growth team. He graduated from the University of Pennsylvania where he completed a dual degree between The Wharton School and The College of Arts and Sciences, concentrating in statistics and majoring in mathematics. Outside of work, he's into health & fitness, LLCs, and Boston sports.

Nate is an Investor at HubSpot Ventures, the strategic venture capital and early growth-stage investing arm of HubSpot. With a focus on accelerating ecosystem growth and enhancing the value of the HubSpot platform for customers, he and the team invest in strategically aligned B2B software solutions. Prior to joining HubSpot Ventures, Nate served as a Venture Fellow and MBA Investment Associate at Springdale Ventures focused on e-commerce brands and enablement software, and worked as an Associate at Evercore and Deutsche Bank in NYC before that. Nate holds an MBA degree from the University of Virginia Darden School of Business, is a proud alumnus of Colby College, and is (also) a Boston sports fan, especially the Boston Bruins.

Matt Gore was a BCG consultant and startup founder with the Saturn Five Venture Studio. Along the way, he got hooked on crafting stories that help founders raise money. Now he manages OPTIO, a firm that specializes in crafting pitch decks. OPTIO pitch decks have helped founders raise over $2 Billion dollars in capital from top firms like A16Z. He is a partner in several service businesses, an angel investor, and leads Aggie Venture Fund, a student VC fund at Texas A&M. 

Herman is a General Partner and COO of Red Bike Capital.  He is an early stage investor and advisor, and a credit and fintech expert with ample experience in distressed investing and workouts.
Prior to launching Red Bike Capital Herman was an Angel Investor in 18 companies.  He enjoys working alongside Founders and helping them grow their businesses.

Herman has more than 20 years of investment experience including Portfolio Management positions at Taconic Capital, Cygnus Asset Management and Bank of America.  
He received an M.B.A from Columbia Business School, a B.S. from The Wharton School, University of Pennsylvania. He is fluent in Spanish and proficient in Portuguese.

Olivia O’Sullivan is a Partner & GM of Platform at Forum Ventures. Forum is an early-stage B2B SaaS fund, focused on making the entrepreneurial journey more accessible and successful. In addition to Forum, she is an active angel-investor, mentor and ultra-marathoner! Olivia joined Forum Ventures from Dow Jones where she managed Product & Innovation Strategy.

Sakib Jamal is an early-stage investor at Crossbeam Venture Partners, where he was the first employee. Recognized on the Forbes 30 Under 30 and Crain’s New York Business 20 in their 20’s lists, Sakib has led over 15 investments and sits on various boards on behalf of Crossbeam. He also created and co-authored The Young VC's Handbook, which became a #1 best seller on Amazon. Previously, he was an investment banking analyst at JP Morgan and earned his bachelor’s degree from Cornell University.

Ian Garrett is the partnerships manager for Capchase where he's responsible for helping more founders access Capchase's non-dilutive growth capital. Beyond his work with Capchase, Ian serves as a startup mentor at MassChallenge where he assists early-stage founders in building and optimizing their business development functions. With a decade of building between business development, venture capital, intellectual property, and engineering, Ian leverages his experience to help founders succeed however he can while helping to advance equity of opportunity within the startup ecosystem.
