  • Have a current paid HubSpot subscription
  • Be comfortable communicating in English
  • Be 18+ years old
  • Be available for at least 75% of required meetings
  • Be willing to sign our Non-Disclosure Agreement (we'll send you a copy if you need it!)
  • Not have served on HubSpot's Customer Advisory Board previously
  • Not be a HubSpot solutions provider, app partner, or partner agency

FAQ

We're using a platform called Outset for our 2026 CAB applications. Outset allows you to record yourself answering application questions, and the AI may prompt follow-up questions to help us get a better sense of your personality and perspective beyond what a traditional written application can capture.

That said, we understand this format may not work for everyone. If you prefer not to be on camera, have accessibility needs, or would simply feel more comfortable with a traditional written application, we have that option available too! Just reach out to cxm@hubspot.com and we'll send you a paper application instead.

Our goal is to learn about you and your experience in the way that works best for you.

You may be a great-fit board member if you:

Leadership & Growth Mindset

  • Embody growth mindset: Are a customer-obsessed change agent focused on propelling your business to new heights and navigating the fundamental transformation of work in the AI era
  • Lead with AI perspective: Are interested in or have experience with AI-powered solutions in your organization—whether you're actively implementing AI, evaluating it, or wanting to understand how it could transform your business
  • Think strategically about growth: Hold a leadership or decision-making position and can offer valuable perspectives on scaling businesses

HubSpot Experience

  • HubSpot knowledge at any stage: Have meaningful experience with HubSpot's products and functionality—whether you're a newer user bringing fresh perspectives on onboarding and adoption, or a veteran user with deep multi-hub expertise who can guide our platform evolution
  • Business growth understanding: Understand how businesses scale and succeed, whether through marketing, sales, customer success, operations, or other growth functions
  • Customer experience focus: Understand the importance of seamless customer activation, value demonstration, and retention strategies in today's competitive landscape

Communication & Collaboration

  • Constructive feedback orientation: Are genuinely interested in providing candid, actionable feedback to help improve HubSpot's products, services, and overall customer experience
  • Effective communication skills: Can articulate complex feedback, insights, and strategic ideas clearly during meetings, async discussions, and collaborative sessions
  • Multi-perspective collaboration: Are comfortable working with diverse board members and HubSpot teams, listening to different viewpoints, and building consensus around joint recommendations

Participation & Professionalism

  • Active participation commitment: Are dedicated to engaging in quarterly board meetings, strategic roundtables, and ideally optional async feedback sessions through dedicated channels
  • Professional integrity: Will maintain confidentiality, adhere to HubSpot's Non-Disclosure Agreement, and act professionally in all board interactions

HubSpot Partners, Solutions Providers, and App Partners are presently ineligible to apply for the HubSpot Customer Advisory Board. We encourage eligible partners to consider applying for HubSpot's Partner Advisory Council instead.

CAB membership is granted for a 12-month term, with an estimated time commitment of 8-10 hours of required participation throughout the year. After completing your term, you'll be invited to join our CAB Alumni group to maintain your connection with HubSpot and the community.

Required Participation:

  • Quarterly virtual meetings (up to 2 hours each, 4 meetings annually)

Optional Opportunities: Beyond the core commitment, you'll have opportunities to engage more deeply based on your interests and availability:

  • On-demand product consultation through dedicated channels
  • Additional working group sessions aligned with strategic objectives
  • Special feedback sessions for new features or initiatives
  • Strategic roundtables and feedback sessions as needed

HubSpot recognizes the value of CAB members' time and respects their commitments outside of the board. The estimated time commitment for CAB activities aims to maintain a balanced involvement that accommodates the busy schedules of members while ensuring meaningful engagement and contribution to the CAB's objectives.

Time Zone Consideration: Given our leadership team is primarily based in North America and EMEA, most board meetings will be scheduled during business hours friendly to those regions. While we welcome global participation, we recognize those meeting times may be challenging for members in other time zones outside of NAM/EMEA.

We're happy to answer your questions. Don't hesitate to reach out to the Customer Experience Team at cxm@hubspot.com with questions regarding the Customer Advisory Board Program.
