Why unsubscribe?

Here's everything you need to know about the new unsubscribe links coming to sequences.

Coming soon, emails sent via sequences will include an unsubscribe link at the bottom.

These unsubscribe links help you to:

Maintain compliance with local spam laws.

Countries across the globe have rolled out laws requiring that commercial emails, whether one-to-one or one-to-many, include an unsubscribe link that lets your recipient tell you, “no thanks”. Unsubscribe links are a great step towards legal compliance and the perfect way to make sure your sales playbook is built with the buyer in mind.

Improve email deliverability.

By allowing your recipients to opt out of your emails instead of marking them as SPAM, your domain’s reputation will be better, ensuring that as your business grows and you send more email, those emails get delivered.

Keep track of contacts who unsubscribe.

You never want to email someone who already asked you to be taken off your mailing list. When a recipient unsubscribes through HubSpot, their contact is automatically updated to reflect that they’ve opted out. This gives your whole organization visibility into who they can and can’t email.

How it works:

  1. All emails sent via sequences will include an unsubscribe link. This will be automatically appended to your email template.
  2. Your contacts can opt-out of emails by clicking the link in the email.
  3. They’ll also be able to decide which type of emails they’d like to receive.
  4. Once a contact has opted-out, you won’t be able to enroll them in any more sequences… but you will still be able to send 1:1 email from your inbox or HubSpot CRM.
